The 'Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation' helmer denies supervising any reshoots as he says, 'For any outlet to say so is not only wrong, it's irresponsible.'

Christopher McQuarrie sets the record straight on the rumors suggesting that he supervised reshoots for "Rogue One: A Stars War Story". The "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" writer/director who reportedly contributed to the "Rogue One" script was reported to take over the film's reshoots after J.J. Abrams ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens") allegedly declined the offer.
"If there are any reshoots on Rogue One, I'm not supervising them," McQuarrie says in a statement to /Film. "For any outlet to say so is not only wrong, it's irresponsible. Gareth Edwards is a talented filmmaker who deserves the benefit of the doubt. Making a film - let alone a Star Wars chapter - is hard enough without the internet trying to deliberately downgrade one's years of hard work. Who does that even serve? Let him make his movie in peace."
McQuarrie also ranted on Twitter. "Attn: bloggers. I'm reading some horses**t rumors tonight. You know where to find me. Do your jobs," so he put the media on blast. He wrote in another post, "The time to ask was before running the story. The difference between blogging and journalism, folks."

Rumor has it, Disney ordered reshoots for "Rogue One" because they were not too keen of director Gareth Edwards' dark tone. "Disney won't take a back seat, and is demanding changes, as the movie isn't testing well," a source told PageSix.
The movie follows rebel fighters who plan to steal the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor's rule. Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna and Donnie Yen are among the cast members. It's due December 16.
