Ginger Zee may have secured a place in the top 3, but whether she will be able to perform on "Dancing with the Stars" finale on Monday, May 23 is still a question. The ABC News chief meteorologist suffered a serious injury right before the most important moment in the competition.

The 35-year-old, who gave birth to her first child Adrian in December 2015, injured her pelvis during rehearsals for a contemporary routine with her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy, and is having back spasms as a result. The injury forced her to stop rehearsing.

Ginger told ABC News that after feeling a "lower back spasm" at home that "takes your breath away," she went to see a physical therapist for the show, Gina Minchella, on Wednesday. "She said my pelvis was forward and an inch off," she shared. "I came back the next day, and [my pelvis] was backward and an inch the other way." Ginger added, "My pelvis is very loose and unstable...because I just had a baby."

"I can't even do some of the moves, I'm not allowed to," Ginger said in a behind-the-scenes video. "I'm not even close to where I need to perform." She is currently just watching while troupe member Jenna Johnson is rehearsing in her place.

"Right now she can't dance at 100 percent and Jenna Johnson is standing in for her during camera blocking today," said a source on Sunday. "She won't know until tomorrow if she can do the dances. Ginger is seeing the show's physical therapist and is resting so that hopefully she will be able to dance tomorrow night."

Despite her injury, Ginger is determined to do whatever she can to take the ballroom floor on Monday night. "It's not like I'm taking a risk that I'm going to injure my back for the rest of my life," she said. "I'm planning to [perform,] so we're going to do everything we can to rest." Ginger is also doing more physical therapy to manage her pain.
