Pat Houston who represents the late singer's family issues a statement regarding the cancellation, saying she's seen the performance and 'decided the hologram was not ready to air.'

AceShowbiz - The planned duet between Christina Aguilera and the Whitney Houston hologram gets scrapped. The late singer's estate has decided to cancel the performance just days before it's scheduled to air during the season 10 finale of "The Voice" next week.

Pat Houston who represents the family issued a statement to ET Online Thursday, May 19 regarding the cancellation, saying she had watched the performance and thought it's not good enough. She has nothing bad to say about Aguilera, though.

"We are so appreciative of the opportunity for the Whitney Houston hologram to appear on NBC's 'The Voice' with a talent pairing as extraordinary as Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston," read the statement.

"We were looking to deliver a ground breaking duet performance for the fans of both artists. Holograms are new technology that take time to perfect, and we believe with artists of this iconic caliber, it must be perfect," it continued. "Whitney's legacy and her devoted fans deserve perfection. After closely viewing the performance, we decided the hologram was not ready to air. We have much respect and appreciation for Christina, and she was absolutely flawless."

The duet was supposed to debut in the Monday night, May 23 episode of "The Voice". However, some pictures and videos of the performance have made their way out online, giving glimpses of the two ladies belting out Houston's "I Have Nothing" and "I'm Every Woman".

It's probably a good thing the Houston hologram is no longer set to appear on the singing show, because a lot of fans who've seen the leaked images and clips seem to hate it. They offered their opinion on the digital version of the late superstar in tweets posted on Thursday.

"That wasnt even a hologram. It was a dollar store Whitney Houston lookalike who ripped off a 90's look and prerecorded vocals on a screen," said a fan. "How do you in good conscience fabricate a Whitney Dallas hologram and parade it around like it's Whitney Houston's dying wish?" another wrote.
