Joe Jackson has fallen ill. The 87-year-old father of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson suffers from a high fever. He was reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles last week after he became weak during a routine checkup. He still remains in hospital.
His son Jermaine Jackson told TMZ, "He came for a checkup at his doctor's but then they put him in a hospital. The way that we got the news, he was not doing well. He's just tired. He's 87. We're just trying to hold on to him as long as we can."
Although the Jackson patriarch is still too weak to return home, he's "doing much better" and "up there telling jokes," Jermaine adds.
Last year, Joe Jackson was hospitalized in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He suffered from a "cardiac arrest followed a mini-stroke" when he was in the country to celebrate his birthday. He underwent surgery and had to stay put for a few weeks until he was well enough to fly back to the States. He threatened media over reports that he was overdosed on Viagra.
