There is no happy ending for actress Aisha Tyler and her lawyer husband Jeff Tietjens. The pair, who have been away from each other since January this year, are divorcing after 20 years of marriage.

Tietjens was the one who filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month. In the documents, he stated that they had been separated for four months, and he cited irreconcilable differences. He is not seeking spousal support from "The Talk" co-host but he's reserving the right to ask for such later.

A rep of Tyler told TMZ that the former college sweethearts would remain friends despite the divorce. It's not clear what prompted their split. They got married in 1994 when he was enrolling in law school and she was trying to make it to the entertainment industry. "We were po'," she told PEOPLE about their early financial struggle. "We couldn't even afford the other o and the r."

They have no children but she has been very vocal about their struggle to conceive. "After 40 your chances of getting pregnant are between 2 and 8 percent," the actress said back in 2013. "In my particular case, they were less than 5 percent. I'm old, in baby years, that's old to be trying to get pregnant." They stopped trying after years, especially after a doctor told her, "Look, based on what we're seeing here, I just don't think this is going to happen for you."
