Lena Dunham took to Instagram on Thursday, April 14 to share a photo of herself lying on a sofa wearing a mermaid costume. The "Girls" star donned a purple metallic bra paired with a pink-and-purple mermaid tails.
She wrote alongside the snap, "Lest you were concerned that I didn't get the chance to dress as a mermaid today... Thank you Chris Gethard Show for making my wet n' wild dreams come true. Chris's show is the happiest most positive and accepting place on earth!"
Lena then shared a close-up picture of her mermaid look. She sported a pink wig paired with a large green starfish pin. She completed her look with thick eyebrow, dramatic lashes and purple lips. She explained her look, "For those who don't know, us mermaids have lips of the palest blue- though some of us choose to hide our natural lip shade with goop and gloss. Not me! 100|percent| natural mermaid!"
In early March, Lena was hospitalized after suffering from an ovarian cyst rupture. Her rep said in a statement, "Lena Dunham has been very public with her personal bouts with endometriosis. This morning, she suffered from an ovarian cyst rupture and has been taken to the hospital. Lena will be undergoing surgery at an undisclosed hospital. We thank you for you understanding and hope that Lena's privacy will be respected."
