"Sherlock" Season 4 has already started filming. Co-creator Mark Gatiss teased fans on Twitter on Wednesday, March 30 of the upcoming season with a cryptic skull picture. The skull wore bizarre glasses.

"I spy Series Four...#Sherlock," Mark, who plays Sherlock's (Benedict Cumberbatch) brother on the series, wrote alongside the snap in a move which will no doubt thrill devoted followers as their last sighting of the show was in January.

The picture was seemingly taken in Sherlock's famed 221 Baker Street residence.

Back in January, PBS president Paula Kerger revealed during the TCA winter press tour that the fourth season of "Sherlock" wouldn't arrive until 2017. "We do have the next 'Sherlock' announced, that is coming up about a year from now," Paula told Zap2it.

Previous report said the three-episode season 4 would begin production in April. "As you know, Benedict has gotten to be somewhat popular since we began our work with him and he very much wants to continue with 'Sherlock'," Paula explained the long gap between each season, "As you know, they are produced almost like films, and we're hoping the next one will be about a year from now."
