Zayn Malik played a mini concert to celebrate the release of his debut solo album, "Mind of Mine". Over the weekend, the former One Direction singer stopped by the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City and performed several tracks off the record for a small crowd of 40 fans.
Sporting a black T-shirt and a black-and-white print jacket, the British singer was joined on the stage by a full band and some backing vocalists as he sang "Like I Would", "It's You" and a brand new track called "Truth".
The intimate gig marked Zayn's first time to play a live set as a solo artist. Previously, he only performed one song at a time during his visits to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". However, not everyone in attendance left the release party feeling happy.
The 23-year-old star was originally slated to have a Q&A with radio host Elvis Duran at the event, but he only had a brief chat with host Maxwell before ending show after only 30 minutes. Fans, who had spent around 20 hours outside the venue before the concert was started, understandably got disappointed. So far no explanation regarding the issue has been made.
