'The Crow' Remake Loses Director Again
Movie

Relativity decides to let go of director Corin Hardy, who was originally hired to helm the remake in 2014 after the previous director F. Javier Gutierrez left.

AceShowbiz - "The Crow" remake has just hit another roadblock. TheWrap reports that the film, which has been planned for years now, has parted ways with its director Corin Hardy who was hired for the job in 2014 following the departure of the previous helmer, F. Javier Gutierrez.

Hardy's exit is a result of Dana Brunetti being appointed as Relativity's new president of production. Instead of asking him to take over someone else's version of "The Crow", the company allows Brunetti to "have him reboot the franchise as he sees fit." Hence, Hardy was let go.

"The Crow" is a remake of Alex Proyas' 1994 classic that was based on James O'Barr's graphic novel. The film's pre-production was interrupted by Relativity's bankruptcy. Jack Huston, who was tapped to star as a leading man in the film, then dropped out after the project's start date was shifted. So far, no new star has been announced to play Eric Draven.

Despite these problems, the movie is expected to still happen. TheWrap says the film is a "top production priority" for Relativity, which has already invested "in excess of $7 million" for it.
