Dwayne Johnson announces Hasselhoff's involvement in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the 1980s-'90s series via a clip of their video call.

The real Mitch Buchannon is back! David Hasselhoff, with the help of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, has announced that he's going to take part in "Baywatch" movie. Johnson, who tackles the role played by The Hoff on the original TV series, took to Instagram on Wednesday, March 2 to share a clip of their video call.
"Pleasure to officially welcome the original #BAYWATCH gangsta himself David Hasselhoff to our movie!" he captioned it. In the clip, the wrestler-turned-actor asked Hasselhoff, "I don't know if the world is ready for both of us. Are you ready?" Hasselhoff responded, "C'mon man, Rocking the Hoff, I was born ready!"
"#BAYWATCH is the most successful TV show of all time and from the day we announced we were turning it into a movie, The Hoff' has been our greatest supporter," Johnson added in the caption. "Especially once he knew our RATED R movie was going to be a combination of AVENGERS meets ANCHORMAN....Hoff's a cool dude who's down to have fun and here's the best part.. He's been training his ass off and gotten in the best shape he's been in in years! (cue slo-mo running and glistening chest hair.. wait, why the f**k am I even thinking about Hoff's chest hair!?) It's unclear what part Hasselhoff will be playing. Johnson recently told ET about how supportive Hasselhoff was about the movie, "I got to tell you, The Hoff has been amazing! From day one, he's been so supportive. He's like, 'If there's one guy who could play me, it's The Rock.' "
Filming is currently underway in Boca Raton, Fla. with Seth Gordon serving behind the lens. Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera also star as members of the lifeguard team. The movie is set for a May 19, 2017 release in the U.S.
