Is 'The Walking Dead' Already Casting for Season 7?

Alicia Witt is possibly the first addition to the cast for the next season of the AMC series.

AceShowbiz - While fans are waiting for the remainder of "The Walking Dead" season 6, the show has apparently begun casting for its upcoming seventh season. Alicia Witt, who has a guest role on 1990s' series "Twin Peaks", revealed that she's joining the cast of the hit zombie series.

"proud & overjoyed to get to announce to you today: I'm joining one of the greatest shows ever made.#TheWalkingDead! @WalkingDead_AMC#TWD," so she tweeted on Thursday, February 4. She's believed to appear in season 7 since filming for the rest of season 6 episodes has finished.

Details of her role are not available yet and AMC has not officially announced her casting.

Witt rose to fame as a child actress after being discovered by David Lynch, who cast her as Alia Atreides in his film "Dune" (1984) and later as Gersten Hayward on his series "Twin Peaks". The 40-year-old actress most recently appeared on Showtime's "House of Lies" and is set to return to the "Twin Peaks" revival.

"The Walking Dead" will return with the remainder of its sixth season beginning Sunday, February 14 on AMC. In a recently released sneak peek for season 6b, star Norman Reedus shares what's coming next on the show, "There are some large things that happen to us in the back half, and we don't all survive and we don't all take it very well." Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd additionally says that the characters will be facing their "inner demons."
