Celine Dion Gives Emotional Eulogy for Late Rene Angelil at His Memorial

The 'My Heart Will Go On' singer attended the memorial of her late husband at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where she said, 'I feel his love in this room.'

AceShowbiz - Celine Dion attended Rene Angelil's memorial at The Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Wednesday, February 3. She was joined by her children and other relatives to honor her late husband of 21 years and give an eulogy for him.

Celine was seen wearing a black veil and a black dress as she entered the church side by side with her twin sons Eddy and Nelson. Besides, Celine was accompanied by her teenage son Rene-Charles Angelil, who also delivered a heartfelt eulogy for his late father.

Invited to come up on stage, Dion looked mournful as she said, "This is my home away from home. At the same time I'm supposed to feel extremely comfortable being home and right now I'm not sure how comfortable I feel."

"I feel his love in this room," she continued. "I feel his strength and his warmth being reflected in all of you. Rene always surrounded me with the best people who believed in us and always worked so hard on our behalf."

Before ending her speech, Celine thanked those who had supported her and the rest of the family. "On behalf of my family, thank you again for being here with us this evening for this beautiful tribute to mon amour," Celine said. "Rene I love you, so much, merci, good night."

Before the memorial, Celine shared a heartbreaking throwback picture featuring herself and Rene, who died after battling throat cancer at the age of 73 on January 14. In the picture, she embraces Rene backstage at one of her concerts.
