Zayn Malik has announced the title of his upcoming solo studio album. During a chat with Beats 1 Radio's Zane Lowe, the former One Direction star revealed his solo effort would be called "Mind of Mine", adding that he wrote about 46 to 47 songs.

"I think the whole message about this is the two things are very separate," the singer explained as he talked about his music with 1D and his solo work. "That was amazing. I did that for five years, enjoyed it. We had some of the best times ever. This is something that is for me. This is the music that I grew up listening to. This is the influences I had. This is what I have to say."

The interview was filmed inside a stadium in Zayn's hometown of Bradford, England. On Twitter, he shared, "It was freezing in the stadium so excuse my chattering teeth in interview haha ! Need to be up north more often, Bradford cold is real."

The British singer is going to debut his first single "Pillowtalk" on January 29. A music video is expected to follow soon afterwards while the album is reportedly planned for a March release.
