However, Gossip Cop has set the record straight, clarifying that there's no bad blood between them.
RadarOnline previously reported that Packer's proposal last week "did not sit well" with Carey's "ex-hubby baby-daddy." The site definitely made a mistake as it referred to Cannon as Carey's ex-hubby while the "Through the Rain" singer was not yet divorced from the rapper.
The site admitted that it obtained the information from a source close to the 45-year-old songtress, suggesting that Cannon "flipped out when he first heard" about the engagement. "He blew up on her when he found out about this, because she was not the one to tell him," a so-called insider said.
"Nick really did think that the only reason that she was with James in the first place was to make him jealous. But now he knows that he is permanently out of the love equation with Mariah. He sent Mariah flowers apologizing for his actions. He told her that he really does just want her to be happy," the source continued.
Moreover, the site said that Cannon sent a "snarky" congratulatory message to Carey on Instagram. In fact, the post seemed to be amusing and sincere.
