'There is NO JOKE YOU CAN CRACK TO EVER CHANGE THE WAY WE ALL FEEL!' Tyrese says of why Chris should step down as the host of the awards show following the lack of diversity issues.

AceShowbiz - Controversy over the lack of diversity in the 88th annual Academy Awards' nomination list is still going on and pressure is growing for Chris Rock to step down as the host of the awards show. 50 Cent and Tyrese Gibson are among people who asked the veteran comedian to drop out of the awards ceremony.

The 40-year-old rapper made a plea to Chris via Instagram on Tuesday, January 19. "Chris please do not do the oscars awards. You mean a lot man, don't do it. Please," Fif wrote alongside a picture of Chris in suit holding a mic.

On the same day, Tyrese posted on the social media a screengrab showing some headlines which speculated Chris' boycott of the awards show. The R&B singer captioned it, "Chris Rock do the right thing make a statement - [we're] relying on you to DO the right thing..... There is NO JOKE YOU CAN CRACK TO EVER CHANGE THE WAY WE ALL FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Later on, Tyrese elaborated in a lengthy note his argument of why Chris should drop out as Oscars host. "If Andy Cohen of #WWHL or Ellen [DeGeneres] were hosting the Oscars and [the Academy] purposely left out all gays and or homosexuals from being nominated for an #Oscar THEY would of stepped down already.....," the former MTV VJ wrote on Instagram.

"This is a #fact click on the link in my IG BIO now we're talking more about this!!!!" he continued. However, he's especially disappointed that the snubs happened when his favorite actor will likely win his first Oscar. "For the record...... I HATE that this is all happening on the year that Leonardo DiCaprio is gonna win his first Oscar for BEST ACTOR...... Leo looooooveeessssss black people!!!!!! Leo in my homie!!!!!" he concluded.

The lengthy note accompanied a screengrab of Tyrese's tweet which read, "You have to take your hat off to the gay community cause right now they're as strong as black people USE to be."

Chris hasn't responded to the call for a boycott of the Oscars yet.
