'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' May Introduce This Fan Favorite Villain
Movie

According to a new report, the Guardians team will face off against Ego the Living Planet in the second movie that will be released on May 5, 2017.

AceShowbiz - While director James Gunn has clearly expressed that he will not respond to any spoiler about the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", a new rumor about the movie has surfaced. The new report suggests that one of Marvel's mightiest villains will appear in the sequel to "Guardians of the Galaxy".

According to Geek.com, fan favorite villain Ego the Living Planet will make its cinematic debut in the upcoming sequel. The site says that it has obtained the information from sources close to the film's production.

If the character ends up appearing in the upcoming film, he will be a huge villain for the Guardians team. According to the comic books, Ego was a regular old planet in the Black Galaxy that was given consciousness by a cosmic creature known as The Stranger. Ego also developed organ-like masses, including a brain, and was then able to move around space.

In one storyline, Ego, who wanted to conquer other planets and take over the world, had a battle with Thor. However, the hammer-wielding superhero managed to defeat the devilish planet by stunning its surface with thunderstorms.

Back in April 2015, Gunn confirmed that "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" would have its original cast members like Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper reprising their respective roles. The movie will start filming in February 2016 and will be released Stateside on May 5, 2017.
