Movie

Director Zack Snyder says of 'Justice League Part One', 'With 'Justice League', you've really started to lay a foundation for pretty expansive world when it comes to this.'

AceShowbiz - Who are Aquaman's parents? What's his superpower? Some movie fans might be curious about the character which hasn't had his solo movie. During appearance on The CW's special "DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League" on Tuesday, January 19, DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns dished on characters in "Justice League Part One" including Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.

Talking about Aquaman, Geoff said, "His name is Arthur Curry, the son of a lighthouse keeper and the Queen of Atlantis. Trisula is his source of power. He can breathe under water. He can communicate with sea life. He's very strong."

"Game of Thrones" alum Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman, said of his character, "I want to see him struggle with the fact that he has the power that he doesn't know how to handle." Geoff added, "He grows up not really feeling like he belongs in either world. So, he's a man who's trapped in two worlds but has a responsibility protecting both of them."

According to Geoff, given that three quarters of the world is covered by water, Aquaman clearly has a vast domain and he also knows everything under the water.

Meanwhile, The Flash will not have many differences in terms of his origins from the character on TV series though Geoff claimed, "This is another The Flash version in Justice universe - the cinematic version of Flash."

The Flash whose real name is Barry Allen becomes "obsessed with forensic science" after his mother was killed and his father was put into prison. "One night when he's working on his mother's case, a bolt of lightning hits him and gives him super speed," said Geoff.

"He's been struck by bolt of lightning... but he's a human," explained Ezra Miller who plays the character in "Justice League". "He can run through walls. He can run across water. He run so fast that he can move into another plane of frequency where there's another reality."

The origin of Cyborg was also unveiled during the special. The character whose real name is Victor Stone is actually a football athlete and a son of a scientist. After he got into a terrible accident, his father turns him into a cyborg to keep him alive.

"[Cyborg] is a technopath which means he can just interface seamlessly with anything technological," Ray Fisher said of Cyborg. "His great weakness is actually trying not to succumb to the technology - trying to stay human."

Director Zack Snyder said of the movie, "With 'Justice League', you've really started to lay a foundation for pretty expansive world when it comes to this."

"Justice League" will start filming in April this year. In addition to the aforementioned cast members, the superhero squad movie will star Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck who will play Superman and Batman, respectively. It is scheduled for a November 12, 2017 release in the U.S.
