Creator Mitch Hurwitz has spilled some plot details of the upcoming season of the hit Netflix sitcom.

AceShowbiz - Mitch Hurwitz has revealed the concept of the fifth season of "Arrested Development". Speaking to Deadline, Mitch said the season 5 would be a serialized murder mystery. The fourth season finale ended Buster arrested for the murder of Lucille Austero.

According to Mitch, the season 5 is in the vein of "Making a Murderer". He will have to discard some story ideas because of the delay of the fifth season due to cast schedules. At one point, the series creator had the idea that George would become a woman, changing the dynamic of his relationship with Michael.

As for the plot, it will pick up on threads from the fourth season. There was also Bluths' idea to have the Mexicans pay for the wall, which has been usurped by Donald Trump. Mitch is hoping to start production soon so it can air before the upcoming presidential election.

Netflix has yet to formally announce a fifth season of "Arrested Development", but they insisted that "it's just a matter of when, [not if]." Last year, producer Brian Grazer revealed the plan was to shoot 17 episodes for the new season in early 2016 for a release in mid-2016.
