"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is coming to a new galaxy. Starz has acquired the pay-TV rights to the seventh installment of "Star Wars" film series. "The Force Awakens" is the last film to be included in Starz' deal with Disney.

Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. According to New York Post, Starz will pay an estimated $17.5 million to be the pay-TV home for "The Force Awakens" in as little as a year after its theatrical debut. By comparison, it pays around $4 million for an hour of original programming.

Starz did not renew its Disney deal in 2016. Disney inked a new pay-TV pact with Netflix, which reportedly agreed to double the figure Starz will pay. "If Disney were on their Netflix deal, they would be paid $40 million," a source told the site.

"The Force Awakens", starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver, has taken in $740 million in North America and is set to surpass "Avatar" as the highest-grossing movie of all time.
