Coldplay delivered a new music video as a New Year present for fans. "Happy New Year, everyone. Here's the video for 'Birds'," the band tweeted on Saturday, January 2.

The video directed by Marcus Haney is grainy and psychedelic in its concept. It was filmed at the massive Salvation Mountain art monument outside of Slab City, California, in the Southern California desert. The video shows the band visiting the site and adds visual effects like kaleidoscope imagery.

"Birds" is the second music video made out of Coldplay's new album "A Head Full of Dreams" which was released on December 4. "Sometimes we weren't sure where we fit in (musically). But with this album, we're embracing the fact that we don't have to fit in anywhere," frontman Chris Martin told USA Today about their latest effort.

The album's booklet also featured a photograph of the foursome standing on the Salvation Mountain art piece.
