Kesha Slams Sony for Wanting to Make Her the Next Adele
Music

The singer responds to Sony which recently suggested they intentionally put her career on hold so she could make an Adele-like comeback in the future.

AceShowbiz - Kesha, formerly Ke$ha, hasn't been able to release new music since engaging in legal battle against Dr. Luke, whom she sued for sexual abuse. The singer has begged her label Sony to get her out of her own contract and allow her to continue her career without the producer.

However, Sony doesn't seem to have issue with the whole situation. Recently, TMZ reported that the company intentionally prevented Kesha from dropping new projects because they wanted to make her the next Adele. In court documents the site obtained, Sony "[points] out Adele, [Justin Timberlake] and D'Angelo all took long breaks and came back stronger."

Kesha has now responded to Sony's statement. On Wednesday, December 30, she took to Instagram to share a screen grab of an article with "Sony Thinks Kesha's Eventual Comeback Could Turn Her Into the 'Next Adele' " in the headline. She said in the caption that she didn't want to be compared to the British singer.

** I love Adele, and this has nothing to do with her or any other artist** I never wanted to have a "comeback" because I never wanted to go away. Making these comparisons is Sonys way of trying to put a positive spin on a horribly abusive situation they are supporting.

Amid her war with Sony and Dr. Luke, Kesha continued to perform live. Last week, she played a surprise show at a local venue called Springwater in Nashville with her band, the Yeast Infection.
