Fans have already known that director Peyton Reed is back to direct the sequel to "Ant-Man", "Ant-Man and the Wasp". In a recent Q&A session about "Ant-Man", the director shared some details about the sequel, saying that it would be "weirder."

The director hinted that he wanted to retain some things that existed in the first film. According to him, one aspect that made the movie successful was Paul Rudd's ability to strike the comedic elements as the shrinking superhero. "The goal is to keep what we really liked for the characters in the first one, but to make it a much weirder movie," Reed said.

The director went on revealing what fans can expect from the story of the sequel. "Part of thing that we're going to explore, as shown in the comics, is how [the Ant-Man and Wasp] are such a great duo and partnership. Part of that, in any partnership, is how they relate to each other as people. Where will their personal relationship be at that point, and what will be their fighting style together?" Reed explained.

The director previously hinted that he wanted to focus more on Hope Van Dyne a.k.a. the Wasp in the next movie. "That was one of the things that was important to me in the first movie when I came on was emphasizing the Wasp more, both Hope Van Dyne and Janet Van Dyne. It's a crucial part," Reed told MTV.

"It's a crucial part because in the comic books, with the exception of the first handful of Ant-Man stories, Wasp came on pretty early on in the comics in the '60s and you really thought of them as a partnership, a romantic partnership as well as a hero team. It's going to be fun to play around with all the aspects of that in this movie," he added.

Evangeline Lilly's performance as the Wasp in "Ant-Man" stole audiences' attention and she had a great chemistry with Rudd. That's why the actress is likely to reprise her role in "Ant-Man and the Wasp", which will arrive in the U.S. on July 6, 2018.
