The new villain will make her debut in the 14th episode of the CBS drama.

AceShowbiz - CBS' "Supergirl" has landed another DC Comics character for battle. "Chasing Life" star Italia Ricci has been casted in the recurring role of Siobhan Smythe, the latest hire by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) at CatCo Worldwide Media.

Siobhan is first introduced as a workplace nemesis for Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), but she later becomes a much more deadly foe for Supergirl when she takes on the mantle of DC villainess Silver Banshee. Italia will made her debut in the 14th episode of the series.

In the comics, Silver Banshee "has superhuman strength, speed, endurance, agility, an impressive ability to resist attacks and a gift for languages. She often uses her sonic-based abilities to weaken her victims."

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells ET in a statement, "We are so excited to be working with Italia. We've been a fan of her work for years and we cannot wait to see her take on this iconic comic book role."

The casting also proves to be a family affair among "Supergirl" and the other Warner Bros.-produced crop of superhero series. Ricci is the fiancee of Robbie Amell, who appeared on The CW's "The Flash".

"Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 P.M. PT/ET on CBS.
