AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez reportedly reached out to Justin Bieber after news broke that he canceled a number of appearances at last minute due to personal issues. HollywoodLife reported that the "Same Old Love" singer urged Justin to reconcile with his mom Pattie Mallette to cope with his problems.
"Selena is huge on family and thinks Justin could benefit from some much needed, quality time with his mom," a source told the news outlet. "He's got so much on his plate right now and Selena knows that Pattie always has a soothing affect on Justin."
As for now, "[Selena] knows he needs a lot of support right now from the people who know him the best and love him the most. People who have his best interests at heart," the source continued.
Justin previously dished on his relationship with his mom during an interview with Billboard released earlier this month. He said that their relationship in the past two years became "pretty nonexisting. I was distant because I was ashamed. I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was."
On the other hand, Justin's mom looked supportive of him. After learning that Justin had the most songs ever on the Billboard Hot 100, Pattie tweeted on Monday, "Good job @justinbieber! You were born for this. You shine so bright. Thank you for sharing ur gifts! #SoProud love love love xoxo Mama."
Justin canceled his scheduled appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and a performance for the 89th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Most recently, the singer was photographed riding a scooter through the street.
