Supergirl will cross path with Superman on the CBS series after all. The show is currently casting Kara's famous cousin, but there's a twist. Instead of featuring the Man of Steel as we know him, he will be depicted in his younger age.
According to TVLine, the show is currently looking for a 13-year-old actor with "future leading man looks" to play Kal-El. The young Superman will appear in the 13th episode of the freshman season through flashbacks "that will establish the cherished bond between him and Kara." He will potentially recur on the show.
Executive producer Sarah Shechter previously insisted that Superman would not be featured on "Supergirl" because "it's not about him." She explained, "And it's her show and it's about her and he is just sort of a shadow in the back of her psyche, and I think that's the right way to portray him because that's how she experiences it."
"Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 P.M. ET.
