NBC has debuted a new promo for "The Wiz Live!" that offers a first look at Queen Latifah as the titular Wiz. The actress/singer turns into the ruler of the Land of Oz with her extravagant green costume and white hair.

Set to song "Brand New Day" from the 1975 Broadway musical, the video also includes a glimpse of Shanice Williams as Dorothy. Other key characters namely the Cowardly Lion (Alan Grier), the Tin Man (Ne-Yo) and the Scarecrow (Elijah Kelley) are also featured in the sneak peek that was released via EW.com.

NBC's "The Wiz Live!", an adaptation of a 1975 Broadway hit based on "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", reimagines L. Frank Baum's tale with an all-black cast and an NYC-inspired Land of Oz.

It follows Dorothy, a young woman from Kansas, who is swept up in a tornado and relocated to a fantasy world. She eventually takes a path down a yellow brick road to find a wizard who can help her go home and along the way meets a scarecrow, tin man and cowardly lion, who all learn to help one another.

Also starring Common, Amber Riley, Uzo Aduba and more, it comes from "The Sound of Music Live!" and "Peter Pan Live!" executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. The live production is set to air Thursday, December 3 on NBC.
