The network has pulled the freshman drama from the schedule after airing only three episodes.

AceShowbiz - ABC has burnt down "Wicked City". It has been officially announced that the network pulled the plug on the freshman drama, removing it from the line-up after only three episodes were aired.

Initially ordered for 13 episodes, production will end after 8 episodes. It's unclear if or when the remaining 5 episodes will air. The show's Tuesday at 10 P.M. slot will be taken over by repeats of "Shark Tank" starting November 17.

Canceling the crime anthology series, which marks Ed Westwick's first TV series after the end of "Gossip Girl", is a no brainer considering the show's poor ratings. The show debuted to just 3.3 million total viewers and a 0.9 ratings in the adults 18-49 demo against the World Series. The latest episode drew 1.7 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating, dropping 29 and 43 percent from the second week.

"Wicked City" is the first rookie which is officially canceled this fall. Although FOX's "Minority Report", ABC's "Blood and Oil" and NBC's "The Player" are nearing the same fate, the networks have yet to make the verdicts on these freshmen.
