Do you cry to Adele's music? It's okay, 'cause even the singer herself does too. The British beauty admitted to getting emotional and shedding tears while listening to her own songs, saying that it's how she knew she'd cut hits.
"In order for me to feel confident with one of my songs it has to really move me," she explained to The New York Times. "That's how I know that I've written a good song for myself - it's when I start crying. It's when I just break out in [expletive] tears in the vocal booth or in the studio, and I'll need a moment to myself."
Adele also opened up to the publication about the pressure to create another masterpiece to follow up her massively successful 2011 album, "21". "I didn't think I had it in me to write another record," she said. "I didn't know if I should. Because of how successful '21' was, I thought, 'Maybe everyone's happy with that being the last thing from me. Maybe I should bow out on a high.' "
Adele shouldn't worry about it anymore, though. "Hello", the first offering from her upcoming full-length effort "25", has been a huge hit and it indicates that her next album will be as big as its predecessor.
The song is currently spending a second week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100. However, the 27-year-old songbird revealed she first thought the song was a flop. She recalled seeing only three responses to the single on her Twitter upon its release.
"I was like, 'Oh, no, I've missed my window. Oh, no, it's too late. The comeback's gone. No one cares,' " she shared. It was her longtime partner Simon Konecki who later showed her thousands of messages she got in response to the track.
