AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey is in talks to join the voice cast of the upcoming "The Lego Batman Movie", the spin-off to 2014's "The Lego Movie". Initial report said that the 45-year-old songtress was on board to voice Commissioner Gordon, but it appears to be false.

Besides Carey, there are Ralph Fiennes, who will voice Alfred, Rosario Dawson, who will lend her voice for Batgirl, Michael Cera, who is on board to voice Robin, and Zach Galifianakis, who is up to voice Joker. Will Arnett, who voiced Batman in "The Lego Movie", will return to voice the Dark Knight.

Chris McKay, the animation supervisor of "Lego Movie", is directing the project with a script written by Seth Grahame-Smith. Dan Lin and Roy Lee are producing along with "Lego Movie" director-screenwriter duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. "Lego Batman Movie" is scheduled to be released Stateside on February 10, 2017.

Carey's last big screen credit was 2013's "Lee Daniels' The Butler". Before that, she also collaborated with Daniels in 2009's "Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire".
