"The X-Files" revival amps up the horror in a new promo which was debuted during the latest episode of "Gotham" on Monday night, October 26. It teases a break-in, a man whose skin is seemingly peeled off, a girl who has a power to break glasses into pieces, and someone who has the ability to throw people.

The video also offers a glimpse of Mulder (David Duchovny) touching his head in pain, Mulder getting scolded by a woman, and Scully (Gillian Anderson) saying about their case, "It has a monster in it." She also reminds him about how dangerous their new case is, but he responds, "When has that ever stopped us before?"

"The X-Files" revival will encompass a mixture of stand-alone investigative episodes and those that further the original show's seminal mythology. In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee played by Annet Mahendru.

Joel McHale joins the cast as Tad O'Malley, a conservative talk show host who becomes an unlikely ally to Mulder. Original stars Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes), Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner), William B. Davis (The Smoking Man), Dean Haglund (Langly), Tom Braidwood (Frohike) and Bruce Harwood (Byers) also return for the six-episode event series.

"The X-Files" revival will launch with a two-night premiere on Sunday, January 24 and Monday, January 25 on FOX.
