'Indiana Jones 5' Won't Recast the Title Character
Movie

Producer Frank Marshall hints that the team behind the classic franchise has no plan to recast the titular archaeologist.

AceShowbiz - Ever since "Indiana Jones V" was announced, there have been several rumors about who will portray the titular character. In an interview with Total Film magazine, producer Frank Marshall hints that the team behind the film is not considering recasting the part and he says that they are still in the process to figure out how to handle the follow-up movie.

When asked about the possibility that Chris Pratt will take over Harrison Ford's role as the fedora-wearing adventurer, Marshall answers, "There are a lot of rumours. We haven't even sat down to talk about Indy yet... at some point we'll sit down. But there's a bunch of people who could probably take the baton."

However, the producer makes it clear that they have no plan to recast the role. "We're not doing the Bond thing where we're going to call somebody else Indiana Jones... we have to figure this out," he says.

As Marshall has stressed that they will not call somebody else Jones, there is a speculation that Ford's Indy will hand on his archaeological expertise to a young adventurer, who may become the new lead character in the upcoming movie. Indy will still appear behind-the-scenes, giving advice to the new generation.
