The 'Hello' crooner reveals that her original album was about being a mother but she didn't like it.

Adele originally didn't plan for "25" to be her next studio album. In an interview with BBC Radio 1, she revealed that she initially wrote an album about motherhood but it quickly went to trash can. "I did write an album about being a mum but that's pretty boring," she told Nick Grimshaw. "I scrapped that."

The 27-year-old Grammy winner gave birth to her first child with fiance Simon Konecki in October 2012 and then retreated from music scene. "Getting into the headspace was really difficult," she explained her struggle to return to studio. "Having such a break off, I kind of fell out of the habit of writing songs."

In a separate interview with BBC Radio 2, Adele added, "I was struggling to write my record, so it all slowed down. Obviously, I took a bit of time off because I became a mum. Then when I thought I was ready to start writing I wasn't. So I took some more time off. And then I was ready. So a couple of times I thought I'd dried up."

Of her new single "Hello," she said, "It's not about an ex-love relationship, it's about everyone that I love." She elaborated, "I felt like a lot of stuff in my life has changed and not at all because of my career, but just because stuff changes as you get older. And I found myself yearning for my past for no reason other than it had gone and I missed elements of it. I didn't want to be back there, I just missed elements. I felt all of us were moving on again."
