Sasha Pieterse teases Alison's love story and how it has influenced her when the show returns in early 2016.

AceShowbiz - "Pretty Little Liars" will feature a five-year time jump when it returns for the second half of season 6. Recently, the show teased the girls' transformations in a sneak peek for the winter premiere and Alison seems to have changed a lot. Met at the PaleyFest earlier this month, Sasha Pieterse was willing to explain what would've caused her character's drastic change.

"More [romance] for Alison," the actress told HollywoodLife.com. "You see that her name is Rollin. When you first come back, she isn't married yet. So the fans get to kind of see her love story, and basically how it changes her for the better, and basically this new life that she has."

Pieterse went on sharing, "Big changes - these girls have gone through a lot and are older, and they have careers and are finding their own identity outside of Rosewood." While the four Liars are now in different cities, Alison's "still back at Rosewood, dealing with life, but she's a totally different person as well. She's gone through a lot of therapy, and she is basically rebuilding who she is."

In the aforementioned preview, Alison is seen teaching at school. "She's become a teacher, and I didn't understand at first, but now it makes perfect sense," Pieterse explains Alison's choice of career. "She never really had that high school experience so she's learning through her students, and she's a very passionate teacher. There's a love story happening for her, and it's basically all about how these girls get thrown back to Rosewood thanks to Alison."

"Pretty Little Liars" returns with the remainder of its sixth season January 12 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC Family which will change its name into Freeform beginning in 2016. It was recently announced that there would a special-themed episode, but it's unknown if the said episode will air before or after the winter premiere.
