AceShowbiz - One Direction just canceled their concert in Belfast, North Ireland on Tuesday night, October 20 after Liam Payne suddenly fell ill. Fans were told about the cancel;ation moments before the band was due to take the stage.
A video posted by a fan on YouTube showed dedicated fans who were waiting at the Belfast's SSE Arena leaving the venue as a representative informed the concertgoers about the cancellation. Fans were asked to hold on their tickets and further information would be made in the morning. Following the cancelation, "#GetWellSoonLiam" began trending on Twitter.
One Direction's rep said in a statement, "Unfortunately One Direction have had to cancel tonight's concert in Belfast. Liam has been taken suddenly ill, and the concert will sadly not be taking place. Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and there will be a further statement tomorrow. The band apologize to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible."
One Direction's members chimed in on Twitter, issuing apologies to fans. Harry Styles wrote, "Deepest apologies to everyone at the show tonight in Belfast. Very disappointed, but unfortunately these things happen. We're very sorry." Niall Horan posted, "So sorry we have had to cancel tonight guys. Unfortunately these things happen... Thank you to all who came down tonight !"
Louis Tomlinson added, "We're so so sorry for what happened tonight, it was out of our control ! Lots of love to Liam and thank you for being so understanding !"
