The new Miss Tennessee USA was crowned at the Austin Peay State University's Mabry Concert Hall on Saturday, August 10. Miss Upper Cumberland Hope Stephens won the title over 44 other contestants at the beauty pageant.
Hope succeeds Miss Tennessee USA 2015 Kiara Young. She will represent Tennessee at the Miss USA in the summer next year. At the annual competition, Miss West Tennessee Erin Hatley was named the first runner-up, followed by Miss Greater Nashville Sara Cardona, Miss Nashville Kaileigh Bullard and Miss Williamson County Alexandra Harper.
Earlier in the evening, Miss Greater Nashville Savannah Chrisley was crowned the 2016 Miss Tennessee Teen USA. Savannah is a star of reality TV show "Chrisley Knows Best". At the teen beauty pageant, the first runner-up was Miss Clarksville Hope Parker, followed by Miss Murfreesboro Samantha Havenstrite, Miss Maury County Corbin Hinson and Miss Unite Elise Stein.
At the Miss Tennessee Teen competition, the contestants took the stage in stunning gowns which seemingly represented the colors of the rainbow. Mix of music from Taylor Swift, Hailee Steinfeld and OMI made the competition more lively.
After the Miss Tennessee Teen competition, the stage was reset for the Miss Tennessee. It restarted at 7:30 P.M. The format was the same and so were the judges. The contestants were quickly narrowed to a group of 15 finalists following two days of competition and interview with this year's judges. After the swimsuit and evening gown rounds, the final five were announced.
