The 'Bridge of Spies' actor applauds his son, Chet, for opening up about his drug addiction on Instagram.

AceShowbiz - Tom Hanks broke his silence on the drug addiction of his son Chet. During the premiere of his newest movie "Bridge of Spies" in New York City, the actor applauded Chet's courage after the 26-year-old aspiring rapper opened up on his personal struggles online.
"As a parent, you love your kids unconditionally," 59-year-old Tom told Entertainment Tonight over the weekend. "You support them every step of the way." He continued, "You got to applaud the bravery and honesty when it actually comes out of your own house."
Chet Hanks talked about his journey of self discovery on Instagram, explaining that having a famous father made it difficult for him to find a place where he could fit in. "There's nothing glorious about bringing yourself closer to death and prison," he said. "If you're struggling with this sh*t take yourself to a meeting, you know? Call some people."
