In anticipation of "The Documentary 2", The Game made an appearance on Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning" on Tuesday, September 22. As he promoted his upcoming release, the rapper announced during his visit to the show that the sequel to 2005's "The Documentary" would be a double album.
" 'The Documentary 2' is a double album. I've told no one on Earth that," Game told hosts Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez. He also shared the news with his Instagram followers, posting a picture of the record's physical copy and writing in its lengthy caption, "Proud to announce to my fans the REASON it took so long to get this album to you... Because it's a MOTHAF**KIN' 'DOUBLE DISC' !!!!!"
He went on to explain his decision to make "Documentary 2" a double album. "In a world where labels punk artists to keep their albums down to 10-12 songs... I don't give a f**k so because 2 of my favorite artists in [Tupac Shakur] & Notorious B.I.G. put out dope double albums," he continued. "I figured 10 years into an iconic career I'd give my fans the opportunity to have one from me."
"Documentary 2" will have a total of 38 songs. The first part of the project is now scheduled to be released on October 9 and will feature 19 tracks including the previously-released "100" with Drake. The second part, meanwhile, is coming out on October 16.
"I cannot wait til you guys get these albums," he added on Instagram. "I put everything I had into making this album #CLASSIC & I appreciate you guys for the love & support & definitely your patience with me completing this album - The Game #TheDocumentary2."
