The Hollywood couple reportedly are in the process of adopting one of three orphaned brothers whom Jolie met while making a trip there as UN ambassador.

AceShowbiz - Reports were flying that Angelina Jolie and husband Brad Pitt were looking forward to expand their brood. The couple, who has had six kids, are said finalizing the adoption of a Syrian orphan.

Jolie is an ambassador of UN High Commissioner for Refugees. She visited more than six Syrian refugee camps and reportedly met three Syrian brothers whose father was taken away by soldiers and mother killed in a bombing incident. "On one solo trip, Angelina met three Syrian orphan siblings," a source told Radar Online. "Angelina was heartbroken to learn the three of them had seen their father taken away by Syrian soldiers, and their home was also bombed. And they lost their mother in the bombing."

It was claimed that Jolie wanted to adopt all of them but Pitt reminded her that it would be hard for the children to adapt to the sudden change in the family dynamics. "Angie wanted to adopt all three, but when she got back to the United States, and told Brad about it, he said no," the source said. "Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their other kids. But Angie didn't put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn't work. But they compromised at adopting one."

The adoption process reportedly will take a long time, with least four to five months before the child could be taken to the United States.

Jolie's rep is yet to comment on the report but Pitt's rep previously denied they were adopting a child in Syria. Jolie and Pitt are already parents to three adopted children. Maddox was adopted from Cambodia, Pax from Vietnam and Zahara from Ethiopia.
