AceShowbiz - Katy Perry had nothing but admiration for Mariah Carey. The pop singer dedicated a song to the veteran diva and showered her with praise when she recently performed at Harper's Bazaar's New York Fashion Week party.
"Mariah! This one's dedicated to you my lovely lady," Perry said to Carey, who was among attendees at the star-studded bash. "You paved the way for so many of us. Now you can just enjoy yourself," she continued before launching into a rendition of her hit "I Kissed a Girl".
Carey later thanked Perry for the shout-out in a Twitter post she shared along with a picture taken when the 30-year-old songbird was on the stage. "Your performance was wonderful," the "Infinity" singer wrote.

During her appearance at the party, Perry also played some of her other biggest hits, including "Roar", "Teenage Dream" and "Dark Horse". She closed out her 20-minute set with "Firework" which she dedicated to assistants working behind-the-scenes during the fashion week.
"This next song is a song I want you to remember when you're going about your day and you've ripped your pants, you have two Band-Aids fall off of the back of your heel, you're sweating, there's coffee all over your blouse - I'm talking about all the assistants here," she said. "And you feel, maybe, like a little plastic bag. We're all human, we all start somewhere."
