'Sleepy Hollow' co-creator Phillip Iscove is developing a TV adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic sci-fi novel for CBS.

CBS is about to bring "The Island of Dr. Moreau" to the small screen. The network is teaming up with "Sleepy Hollow" co-creator Phillip Iscove to turn the 1896 H.G. Wells novel into a TV series.
The novel centers on a man stranded on the island home of the titular scientist who experiments on creating human-like hybrid beings from animals. On the CBS drama, however, Dr. Moreau will be a woman instead of a man like in the novel.
The TV series will focus on fiercely intelligent and fearless Dr. Katherine Moreau, who expands the boundaries of medicine through bold and revolutionary scientific experimentation and treatments in her privately funded island hospital.
Iscove will pen the script and executive produce the drama along with the Kennedy/Marshall Co.'s Frank Marshall and Robert Zotnowski.
"The Island of Dr. Moreau" has been turned into a slew of movies, including a 1996 film starring Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer that was panned by critics. Warner Bros. is developing a new big-screen take on the classic novel with Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way.
