Paramount and Skydance Pictures are eying Danika Yarosh to star opposite Tom Cruise in upcoming "Jack Reacher 2", according to Variety. Danika will reportedly play Jack Reacher's daughter. According to insiders, while her "Heroes Reborn" schedule might conflict with the project, she is the choice for the role as for now.

Danika was among a group of girls who tested with Tom over the past month as the actor flew back and forth from filming "Mena" in South America. Sources say Danika's "chemistry reads were hard for the studio and actor to overlook and the choice became fairly clear over the past week." The "Jack Reacher" sequel is expected to begin filming next month and will next set out to cast its main villain.

Cobie Smulders was also in talks to star in the sequel.

To be directed by "The Last Samurai" director Edward Zwick, "Jack Reacher 2" is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2016. It will follow Jack as he travels to the headquarters of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps to have a dinner with his female commanding officer. By the time he gets there, she has been arrested, and Reacher finds himself being charged with pummeling one guy and fathering a child with a woman. He can't remember either transgression but gets to the bottom of it with cunning and sometimes brute force.
