Beyonce was the headlining act on the first day of the music festival. Jay-Z founded and curated the festival which took place at Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia over the course of two days. Wearing a hood, he stood next to Nick Jonas among the crowd as they grooved to Beyonce's tracks.

Beyonce performed many from her hits catalog, including "Crazy in Love", "Run The World (Girls)", "Drunk in Love" and "Halo". She also played Destiny's Child songs such as "Say My Name", "Jumpin', Jumpin'' and "Survivor". She gave a shout-out to her former bandmates, saying, "Shout-out to my girl Kelly, I love you. My girl Michelle [Williams], I love you. If you survived bad relationships, if you survived illnesses. When it gets tough, that's when you work harder."

Kelly Rowland and Beyonce's mom Tina were also in the audience.
