Khloe Kardashian has gotten bodyguards following a scary encounter with her ex-husband Lamar Odom. "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" production staff decided to hire extra security to keep Khloe safe.

A production source tells Radar Online, "Nobody was going to take any chances with Khloe's safety, so the decision was made to hire bodyguards. Of course, the whole drama is going to be a storyline for the upcoming season."

"Khloe didn't want to pay for a bodyguard out of her own pocket when she wasn't filming, but she hasn't been alone since the incident with Lamar," the source adds. "Khloe feels very secure at her mansion because she lives in a gated community, and her mansion is also behind gates. She has cameras all over the property as well. Her brother Rob Kardashian and boyfriend James Harden are constantly around."

Khloe was ambushed by Lamar on her way to SoulCycle workout on August 12. At that time, she looked surprised when her ex-husband came out of nowhere and demanded her to speak with him. As Khloe kept walking away from him, Lamar touched her arm and she screamed at him, "Get off of me, get off of me. Stop. Stop." She then bolted to her car and drove away.

In an interview with InTouch, Lamar denied ambushing Khloe, admitting he's still in love with her. "I did not ambush Khloe. I am not a threat to her," the athlete says. "We spoke [beforehand]." He adds, "A misunderstanding between me and my wife became public. It's hurtful."

The professional basketball player said he would "never be completely happy" without Khloe. He explained, "That woman is my wife. Without the ring on my finger. [Even] with her picture being taken with another man, that woman is my wife. She's [my] soul mate. I can't control it. We'll never part."
