Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" has been holding very special meaning for this young boy battling a rare form of cancer. The singer made the song even more special for the 7-year-old kid named Jeremiah Succar when she performed it with him during her surprise trip to Children's Hospital Los Angeles where he was treated.

Platten learned of Succar's condition through social media and decided to visit him at the hospital a couple of weeks ago. A video of them meeting and performing a duet of the inspiring track finally made its way out online on Tuesday, September 1 via the hospital's website in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

As seen in the clip shot in his room, Platten let Succar who knew every word to the song handle the lead vocal duties. She backed him with her guitar and helped him sing the higher notes.

Last May, Succar was diagnosed with stage-four atypical rhabdoid teratoid, "an aggressive, fast-growing tumor that occurs in the brain and spinal cord." "Fight Song" has been his anthem since then.

"Jeremiah loves 'Fight Song'," his dad Jerry Succar told the hospital. "He memorized the lyrics after three or four times of listening to it. He used to sing it when he got a lot of headaches, but now he sings it in the morning, before bed and during shots he has to get."
