Armie Hammer is in talks to join the cast of Tom Ford's thriller "Nocturnal Animals", according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hammer will join the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams in the movie which is being developed at Focus Features.

Hammer will play the husband of a character portrayed by Adams. The movie will mark the second time Ford helms a feature after he directed "A Single Man". Ford also writes the script and produces the movie, which principal photography is set to start this fall, alongside Robert Salerno.

"Nocturnal Animals" is based on Austin Wright's 1993 novel entitled "Tony and Susan" which tracks two stories. The first part centers on a woman (Adams) who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, whom she left 20 years earlier, asking for her opinion. She finds herself recalling her first marriage and confronting some dark truths about herself. Meanwhile, the second part follows a man (Gyllenhaal) whose family vacation turns violent and deadly.

Michael Shannon, Aaron Johnson and Kim Basinger are also in the cast of the film which is expected to be released in the U.S. in 2016. Hammer was most recently seen in Warner Bros.' action pic "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." alongside Henry Cavill. He will next be seen in Ben Wheatley's "Free Fire" alongside Brie Larson and Cillian Murphy.
