TBS announced on Thursday, August 27 that "American Dad!" had been renewed for two more seasons. The network has ordered 44 additional episodes, 22 for each season, of the animated family comedy.

The renewal means the brainchild of Seth MacFarlane will be on air through 13th season in 2018. This is the second time TBS has renewed the series following the show's departure from FOX last year. The 11th season will premiere on TBS and Adult Swim in early 2016.

Since its move to TBS, "American Dad!" has been the basic cable's juggernaut. It became the network's No. 1 scripted series on Mondays at 9 P.M. among adults 18-34.

" 'American Dad!' has thrived since coming to TBS and Adult Swim, demonstrating the Turner portfolio's ability to build enduring hits through a combination of smart programming, savvy promotion and extensive multiplatform distribution," said Deborah Bradley, executive vice president of networks optimization and content commercialization for Turner Broadcasting. "We look forward to keeping the crazy-but-lovable Smith family around for a long time."
