The 'Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation' star confirmed that his character would be on Captain America's side, saying that it made sense to him.

AceShowbiz - Ever since "Captain America: Civil War" has been confirmed to feature the conflict between the Cap (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), one thing that many people may be curious about is which team has recruited which heroes. At Wizard World Comic-Con in Chicago, Jeremy Renner, the actor who portrays Hawkeye, revealed on whose side his character would be on in the upcoming movie.

At a panel during the event, Renner revealed that Hawkeye would be siding with Captain America. When asked about his feeling about siding with the First Avenger, the 44-year-old actor answered, "I don't know, they wrote me in that side. It made sense to me." Realizing his slip, he quickly joked, "Maybe I switched sides!"

The film just completed principal photography on August 22. It will pick up where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.

"Civil War" also features other Marvel major superheroes such as Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). It will also be a place where Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and the new version of Spider-Man (Tom Holland) make cinematic debuts. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film is scheduled for a release in North America on May 6, 2016.
