"Man of Steel 2" is reportedly still happening although it was delayed due to the release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". According to Jon Schnepp who directed the documentary of Tim Burton's canceled movie "Superman Lives", George Miller is expected to direct the sequel to the Superman reboot.

"George Miller is doing Man of Steel 2. I don't feel weird about breaking it," he said in a recent podcast as quoted by Collider. "Obviously Zack Snyder is doing Justice League one and two, James Wan is doing Aquaman. ... I think George Miller's a perfect choice to do Man of Steel 2. He's going to bring so much to it."

In the meantime, Henry Cavill's Superman will be pitted against Ben Affleck's Batman in "Dawn of Justice" first. Slated to hit theaters on March 25 next year in the United States, it's supported by Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman among others.

George Miller, 70, is fresh off "Mad Max: Fury Road" which received rave reviews from moviegoers. He is expected to return behind the lens for the sequel "Mad Max: The Wasteland" with Tom Hardy back in the lead role. There are also chatters about a spinoff that focuses on Charlize Theron's Furiosa.
