"Flight of the Conchords" the movie will hit cinemas at some point in the future. Jemaine Clement confirmed that he and bandmate Bret McKenzie have been working on a film based on their hit HBO series.

"We have actually started writing one," Clement told Indiewire. "But who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas. We're not down to the stage where we're going, 'The film is going to be like this,' it could be this, this, this, this, this."

Talks about a film had started right after the show's series finale in 2009. Two years later, McKenzie said in an interview, "We're going to try and do a movie. We just need a story." HBO said nothing about a movie project at that time.

Clement will appear on the big screen in Roald Dahl's "The BFG" which is slated for release next year. Flight of the Conchords the band is also prepping a U.S. tour which will be announced before the end of the year.
