The rapper whose real name is Ben Haggerty releases 'Growing Up' as a special ode to newborn daughter Sloane and includes a picture of him wearing a gold band on his ring finger.

Macklemore announces the arrival of his first child. The baby named Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty was born on May 29. The new dad celebrates it by releasing for free download a new song titled "Growing Up" which was specially recorded for his newborn daughter.
"There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe," the 32-year-old rapper whose real name is Ben Haggerty said. "She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her."
Macklemore reunites with Ryan Lewis for the song and collaborates with Ed Sheeran. He includes a picture of Sloane wrapping her little fingers around his thumb. A gold band is seen on his ring finger, suggesting that he has quietly married his baby mama, Tricia Davis.
He explained the creation of the song, "When you try to escape yourself, life has an interesting way of creating situations that force you to come back. To look at who you are. This is why 'Growing Up' felt like the right song to re-emerge with. It's where I've been the last year, through all the ups and downs."
Macklemore added, "We didn't want to do a big campaign or anything over the top with this. We just wanted to put out good music, directly to the people that have been here since the beginning. Thank you for your patience. Hope you enjoy."
